Studio HistheShit

From 2015 to 2021 the Dopamin collective used a studio space in the Atelierhaus Baumstraße in Munich and realized there the 5-year project Studio H is the Shit. Inspired by the ADM in Amsterdam and Andy Warhol’s New York Factory, the studio was a workspace, event location and meeting place for artists and artists and cultural workers in one. The changeability of the studio made it possible to implement unconventional ideas and to unconventional ideas and, above all, to offer young artists the opportunity to try out and develop. The interplay between music and art was a common thread running through the entire project. thread running through the entire project. Several times a year, the Dopamin collective organized there concerts, music performances and art exhibitions, thus promoting the exchange of artists, musicians and visitors on a local, national and international level. Against the background of the cultural scene in Munich, Studio H is the Shit also has a political dimension. The conditions for the emergence of self-organized places where an expansion of the arts and culture in a subcultural direction can take place are often made made more difficult. However, a metropolis like Munich needs a thriving subculture and places like this. For the Dopamin collective actively advocated this idea with the studio and made a valuable contribution to the development of a subcultural scene. to the development of a subcultural scene in the city. Studio H is the Shit was therefore not only a place of work and and event location, but also an art project and part of the collective’s actionism.
